INSTINCT to be broadcast live in HD on PPV - Inaugural event moved to May 8th

Mar 19 2010

NEWARK (NEW JERSEY) March 19th 2010 – Instinct Sports Entertainment is proud to announce a major pay-per-view deal that will see the new sport of Professional Stand-up Fighting available worldwide in High Definition. Instinct’s president Stephane Patry sees this great news as a huge step forward for his organization

This is a great day for our company and a great day for combat sports fans. We already have some great deals signed with some terrestrial television networks as well as cable television networks around the world, but to make this event available live on pay-per-view to all our fans around the world is very exciting.” The event is headlined by fighters from 11 different countries – USA, Canada, Thailand, Russia, Brazil, Holland, Aruba, Poland, Trinidad, Cameroun and Belgium.

The signature of this live pay-per-view broadcast coupled with a potential date conflict pushed Instinct to move the original date of April 17th a couple of weeks, as the event will now take place on Saturday, May 8th 2010 live from the Essex County College Sports Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The event will feature some of the best stand-up fighters in the world in a new sport that will feature non-stop action. Just like in mixed martial arts, fighters will be allowed to strike with their fists, elbows, knees, legs and feet – takedowns and throws will also be allowed but in Professional Stand-up Fighting, when the fight hits the ground, there is no submissions and no striking on the ground – the referee immediately steps-in and the fight resumes in the stand-up position for 100% action and excitement. Fighters will be wearing  newly designed 7 oz. hybrid gloves that are a mix between a MMA glove and a Muay Thai glove.

The final line-up for this 12 bout fight card will be announced shortly. Already seven bouts have been announced including the main event that will feature two of the best 155 pound Muay Thai fighters in the world as Russia’s Ivan Busarov takes on the young phenom Antoine Pinto from France. Tickets are on sale now on www.TICKETMASTER.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
