Feb 23 2010
TRENTON (NEW JERSEY) February 23rd 2010 - Instinct Sports Entertainment owner and president Stephane Patry was proud to announce today that his new brand of combat sport received the green light from the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board (NJSACB) who accepted to sanction this new professional sport.
"I'm very excited of the support we received from Mr. Nick Lembo (Deputy Attorney General) and the NJSACB commissioner Mr. Aaron Davis. Right from the beginning they understood exactly what we were trying to build and the fact that they believe in Martial Arts, combats sports and our new sport is a huge step forward for us. The sport was actually approved by them back in October but I really wanted to build a strong team and be well prepared on every level before the announcements, now it's officially announced and we are ready to rock'n roll!" stated Instinct's Stephane Patry. The new sport of Professional Stand-up Fighting is the answer for combat sport fans who want non-stop action
featuring the best athletes in the world's most exciting stand-up sports and martial arts. This new sport is a mix
between Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing and Sanshou. While athletes are allowed
the exact same techniques as MMA when standing-up, as soon as one of the
fighters is on the ground, the referee steps in and the fight is restarted in
the stand-up position. Throws and takedowns are allowed just like in the Chinese
martial art of Sanshou, but most of the action in Professional Stand-up Fighting
features punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes.
Nick Lembo of the NJSACB is optimistic that this new sport may have a great impact in the combat sport industry "The NJSACB has reviewed the proposed rules, as
submitted by Instinct. This concept, with proper regulation and oversight,
could become very popular with the many enthusiasts of stand-up based martial
arts such as Muay Thai, Sanshou and
Kickboxing."
Instinct's first event that is scheduled to take place in April of 2010 in the State of New Jersey will be announced shortly. Instinct's vice-president Sylvain Brouillette promises that this first event will open many eyes around the world "This is going to be by far the most spectacular combat sport in the world and we will make sure everyone gets a glimpse of Instinct". Many of the top stand-up fighters from around the world have been scouted for this inaugural event as well as for the five events planned for this first year in Instinct Fighting's history. These events will be broadcasted from coast-to-coat in the
United States and Canada via pay per view. Instinct’s events will also be
broadcasted on national television on a tape delay basis in most major sports
stations around the world. Instinct’s event are scheduled for cable and
satellite broadcast in countries such as United States, Canada, Mexico,
England, France, Holland, China, Japan, Thailand and many more as the list is
growing every day. Each event will be produced in High Definition for some
of the most detailed and spectacular sport broadcast on the market.
